Sebastian Vettel, born on 3 July 1987 in Heppenheim, Germany, is the youngest World Champion in F1 history and one of only four drivers to secure four or more World Championships. He clinched four consecutive Drivers' World Championship titles between 2010 and 2013, competing in 299 Grands Prix throughout his career with 53 race victories and 57 pole positions. Vettel holds numerous "youngest" records in F1, including the youngest pole-sitter, youngest race winner, youngest World Champion, and youngest back-to-back defending champion.

Early Career and Youngest Records
Vettel's motorsport journey began at the age of three when his father built his first go-kart. At the 2007 United States Grand Prix, he stood in for the injured Robert Kubica at BMW Sauber, becoming the youngest driver to start an F1 race at 19 years and 53 days old, and finished eighth on his debut to set the record as the youngest driver to score championship points. At the 2008 Italian Grand Prix, driving for Scuderia Toro Rosso, Vettel claimed his maiden pole position and Grand Prix victory, setting new benchmarks as F1's youngest-ever pole-sitter and race winner at 21 years of age.

Red Bull Dynasty and Four Consecutive Titles
In 2009, Vettel was promoted to Red Bull Racing. In 2010, he secured his maiden World Championship at the season finale in Abu Dhabi, becoming the youngest World Champion in F1 history at 23 years and 135 days. In 2011, he successfully defended his crown with 15 pole positions, 11 race wins, and 392 championship points, rewriting several single-season records. Vettel retained the title in 2012 and 2013, joining Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher as only the third driver to achieve four consecutive world titles. Ferrari Era and Career Slump
In 2015, Vettel moved to Ferrari, succeeding Fernando Alonso as team leader. He delivered three victories in his debut season with the Scuderia, but the car's competitiveness remained inconsistent over the following years. During the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Vettel mounted strong championship challenges, but crucial on-track mistakes and car reliability issues saw the titles slip away. The 2019 Singapore Grand Prix stood as the final victory of his Ferrari career. By the 2020 season, Ferrari suffered a significant dip in performance, leaving Vettel with just a single podium finish all year.

In 2021, Vettel joined Aston Martin. He secured a runner-up podium at that season's Azerbaijan Grand Prix and was disqualified from second place in Hungary due to a post-race fuel sample issue. On 28 July 2022, Vettel announced via social media that he would retire at the end of the season, expressing his intention to "spend more time with family" and "focus on environmental and social issues". At the Abu Dhabi season finale, he crossed the line in 10th place to take the final championship point of his career.

Post-Retirement Environmental Initiatives
Following his retirement, Vettel relocated to Switzerland to live on a farm and enrolled in agriculture courses. He channelled his public profile into environmental advocacy, establishing the V5 Projects platform to consolidate his ecological and social initiatives. At the Suzuka Circuit, he launched the "Buzzin' Corner" biodiversity project, building insect hotels at the track's kerbs; at the Brazilian Grand Prix, he introduced "F1REST – Drawn Together", inviting fans to draw trees to raise awareness of forest conservation. In 2026, he was honoured with the "Conservationist of the Year" award by The Perfect World Foundation for his environmental contributions.
